There are two categories of membership and shall generally comprise of business persons of good standing: 1. Corporate Companies/firms situated and operating in Malaysia: in which Australian companies/firms have an interest, which are interested in developing trade and commercial interests in Australia, who are engaged in the promotion of Australian products or services in Malaysia. Each company is entitled to nominate one principal representative and three other additional representatives. The company can change nominees as often as they like. [ Application Form: Corporate ] 2. Individual Business persons, being citizens of Australia, residing in Malaysia and who are engaged in business or a profession. Business persons, being citizens of Malaysia who represent Australian companies/firms in Malaysia or who have a substantial in trading with Australia. Business persons, being permanent residents of Malaysia who either individually or in association with a corporate entity are prominent investors in Australia. Any other person nominated by a member and accepted by the Executive Committee. [ Application Form: Individual ]

The following shall not be eligible to be a member: An undischarged bankrupt A person convicted of an offence involving fraud, dishonesty or moral turpitude and has not received a free pardon; A person found or declared under any written law to be of unsound mind Applications for membership of MABC shall be made in writing to the Chairman of the Executive Committee by completing either the Corporate or Individual application form, together with the necessary payment and the Executive Committee on the recommendation of the Membership Sub-Committee shall determine each application. Fees Corporate Membership Entrance fees RM800 & annual subscription RM800, both payable upon application. Following years annual subscription payable on the 1st of January each year. Individual Membership Entrance fees RM200 & annual subscription RM200, both payable upon application. Following years annual subscription payable on the 1st of January each year. If joining after 1 July, the subscription for the first year is halved (ie. Individual RM100, Corporate RM400) Cheque made payable to the Malaysia Australia Business Council. The application will only be processed after the receipt of due payment of entrance fees & annual subscription The approval of membership will take about a month.
